The Red Hot Chili Peppers, one of the most popular bands of the past several decades, has announced their first tour since 2007. The group will bring their I’m With You Tour to Grand Rapids on May 26th. This will be the fourth time the band has been to Van Andel Arena since 2000.
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 27 at 10am and are priced at $38 and $58. Tickets can be purchased at the Van Andel Arena and DeVos Place box offices, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com or charge by phone; 1-800-745-3000.
With lead singer and Grand Rapids-native, Anthony Kiedis, the band has sold over 70 million albums worldwide on their way to seven Grammy Awards. Yet the next honor for the group is perhaps one of the most prestigious in music as they will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April.
The band, known for their funk/rock influence beyond their flamboyant personalities, has berthed multiple hits on the Billboard Top 100 Chart, including “Give It Away,” “Under the Bridge,” “Californication” and “Dani California.” The 2007 world tour was widely accepted as a commercial success—a trend they’re sure to continue. The tour will travel to multiple continents and several countries on the heels of their latest album “I’m With You,” which has been nominated for a Grammy award for Best Rock Album.
